MYBYK, a company that offers shared active mobility services, has introduced two electric bicycle models: MYBYK Electric and MYBYK Electric Cargo. MYBYK Electric is a consumer bike that addresses first- and last-mile connectivity for residents and tourists, while MYBYK Electric Cargo addresses last-mile delivery for gig workers.

With more than eight years of experience managing Public Bike Sharing programmes based on more than 10,000 pedal bicycles in six Indian cities, MYBYK is now entering the electric mobility market with entirely domestic and specifically designed electric bicycles that it has developed in-house.

Arjit Soni, Founder & CEO of MYBYK, on the launch of MYBYK Electric said that with MYBYK Electric, they hope to offer users a special blend of convenience, health, and transportation. He said that their electric bicycles will give riders all the benefits of both a low-speed electric scooter for commuting and a bicycle that people can pedal for exercise and leisure. And for the daring, the MYBYK Electric has, the “Powerpedal Mode”, which boosts the user’s pedalling and provides assistance, reducing the effort put in cycling, by up to 80%!

Adding to what the MYBYK Founder said, Mr.Shreyansh Shah, the Associate Director – Strategic Alliances, MYBYK, mentioned that their company recently received a contract to install 1000 electric bicycles in the city of Mysuru. More cities are joining this initiative on bicycles, to improve the quality of life of their citizens. He also said that, when compared to other low-speed e-scooter service providers, their e-cycles will be available for almost 50% less money as a rental option, lowering the cost of first and last mile connectivity as well as last mile delivery issues faced by many in crowded cities.

According to a press release, the MYBYK Electric with PowerPedal is India’s first consumer electric bike created for utility. The “active” electric mobility company, is soon aiming to launch a cargo variant for last-mile delivery.

It is worth noting here that in 2021 the company had raised US $1 million while venturing into manufacture of indegenously developed electric bicycles in India.
